Nobody Walks in L.A. is the first mission in Gangstar: West Coast Hustle. It serves as a tutorial mission.

Plot[]

Pedro and Juan have just escaped a Mexican prison, Pedro reminds Juan that he has a friend named L.C. that could help them with their situation. Pedro and Juan then steal a car and head towards the nearest phone booth. At the phone booth, there's a thug that disrespectfully tells Juan to "find one of your own phones". Angered, Juan orders Pedro to beat up the Unnamed Thug. After beating up the thug, Juan uses the phone to call Tia Carla, who is presumably Juan's Aunt. Juan asks Tia Carla about L.C.'s location which makes Tia Carla agitated. Juan hangs up on Tia Carla and asks Pedro if they should tell him about the failed bank robbery they committed. Pedro immediately tells Juan to not tell L.C. and to tell him that they "got in some trouble".

Pedro: Oye Juanito, you hid that car good, right? I don't wanna escape prison in Mexico just to wind up in prison here, bro.

Juan: Don't Worry, P! It's all good. So what do we do now? We better get outta here, huh? Head north? Or maybe Vegas?

Pedro: No. You said you got an old friend L.C. who can help us, right? So we gotta get to a payphone and track him down.

(Pedro heads towards the parking lot, steals the car and heads towards phone booth)

(Juan and Pedro walk towards the Unnamed Thug, who is on the phone)

(The Unnamed Thug hangs up and looks at Juan)

Unnamed Thug: Yo kid, step back... This phone's blue, right? I don't see no blue on you, so this phone... it ain't for you. Find one of your own phones...

Juan: My own phones, vato?! I think you need to learn some respect!

(Pedro beats the Unnamed Thug up)

(Juan approaches the phone booth and dials a number)

Juan: Tia Carla? It's Juan...

Tia Carla: JUAN! COMO ESTAS MI HIJO?(HOW ARE YOU MY SON?) It's been so long and no news!!

Juan: I know, sorry. Listen, I'm in town. You know where Luis is at?

Tia Carla: That fool hangs out with some bad guys near the pink house in Calle Ventura.

Tia Carla: Forget him! You have to come give me a kiss!

(Juan hangs up)

Juan: OK I know where he at! L.C. is like family! So... You think we should tell him what we did? The bank thing?

Pedro: No! We'll say we got in some trouble in Mexico, but we won't say NOTHIN' about what just went down. All he'll know is, we just got to L.A. Let's go!

Trivia[]

  • If you choose not to attack, the Unnamed Thug will just stand there squared up but will not attack.
  • The Unnamed Thug oddly pockets the phone when he hangs up, even though the phone is wired to the booth.
  • The Unnamed Thug claims that Juan has "no blue on you" despite Juan having blue jeans. (I'm pretty sure the Thug meant that he wasn't part of a gang that used blue and the blue phone booths)
  • In rare occasions, you can get money from killing the Unnamed Thug.
  • The word "right" and the ellipsis (...) is used a lot in the dialogue for some reason.
  • In Kings of L.A., the unnamed thug was not in the phone booth, Juan just approaches the phone booth and calls Tia Carla immediately.
