The Wanted Level is a game mechanic that causes law enforcement officers to act hostile toward the player. It is triggered if an officer notices the player commit a crime or if the player kills enough civilians. It is represented by stars (Gangstar: Crime City, Gangstar 2: Kings of L.A., the 2D versions of Gangstar: Miami Vindication and Gangstar Rio: City of Saints, and Gangstar: New Orleans) or badges (Gangstar: West Coast Hustle, the 3D versions of Miami Vindication and City of Saints, Urban Crime, and Gangstar Vegas) on the head-up display (HUD).
